Superintendent Search

 

 

Introduction

The Board of Trustees of the Bremond Independent School District is conducting a comprehensive search for an innovative and student-driven educational leader to fill the role of Superintendent. The board is looking for a candidate willing to come in and work with the current superintendent, who will serve as superintendent emeritus to ensure a smooth transition.

 

 

 

District Information

The mission of the Bremond Independent School District is to develop each student's intellectual, social, and emotional abilities in order to ensure that each child masters the basic curriculum and maximizes his or her innate potential.

Bremond ISD is dedicated to providing a quality education for every student in our district. We believe every child should have the opportunity to attain their full potential. To achieve this BISD believes that by establishing and maintaining open lines of communication we will positively impact student academic achievement and campus performance.

Bremond ISD is a very successful district of approximately 500 students. Students experience high levels of success both academically and in extracurricular activities. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to doing whatever is necessary to improve student outcomes. We will be putting a bond election out to the voters in May of 2025 to improve our already impressive facilities and upgrade technology. Bremond ISD is searching for a superintendent with the following qualifications:

  1. A valid Texas Superintendent Certification
  2. At least five years’ classroom teaching experience and principal and/or central office

experience required.

  1. A strong knowledge of budgeting and public school finance. Experience in a rural, small, or mid-size district is preferred.
  2. A belief in high standards and holding everyone equally accountable in reaching those goals.
  3. Demonstrated strong skills in educational leadership in respect to uniting staff, parents and community in the pursuit of student achievement and a positive district culture.
  4. Experience in the construction, maintenance, and operations of facilities, and a demonstrated good steward of taxpayer dollars. Completion and implementation of a successful bond project is preferred.
  5. A strong background in student performance success, educational technology and vocational programs. Experience in maintaining strong UIL academic, fine arts and athletic success is also preferred.
  6. Experience working with all students, including economically disadvantaged students.
  7. Integrity and exemplary moral character along with excellent people skills who leads by example. Visible throughout the community, district, and on campuses.
  8. An effective public speaker and motivator.
  9.   Shown maturity, stability and the willingness to stay in a district for five or more years.
  10.   A strong desire to be a part of the community and the willingness to be present at extra-curricular and community events. Requirement to reside within the district.
  11. The desire and ability to work with others and willingness to develop leaders, and promote the best staff possible, regardless of whether they are local or from outside the community.
  12. A person with an open mind, who will take the time to see what works before making significant changes.
  13. Open communication with the Board, the administration, faculty, staff, and community.
  14. Experience in working with legislators and familiar with legislative processes.
  15. High expectations for Bremond ISD students, faculty, and staff, and the desire to take a great school district and make it even better.

Salary/Benefits:

 

Salary is commensurate with experience and success in a 2A district in Region 6. Travel, benefits, and contracts are commensurate with regional ranges.

Moving Expenses: Reasonable moving expenses may be negotiated.

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Implement the special education appraisal process.  Assess the educational, learning styles, and program needs of students referred to special education services according to federal and state regulations.  Work cooperatively with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate instructional programs for students with disabilities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in educational assessment

Valid Texas teaching certificate

Valid Texas educational diagnostician certificate

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development, and

learning theories

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

Two years teaching experience

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

Work for Robertson County Special Services, a shared service arrangement for the following districts:

Bremond, Calvert, Franklin, Hearne, and Mumford. 

Office is located in Hearne and Franklin ISD is the fiscal agent.

Position Starts: August 2024

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Implement the special education appraisal process.  Assess the educational, learning styles, and program needs of students referred to special education services according to federal and state regulations.  

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in psychology from accredited college or university

Valid Texas License as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists

 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of procedures for assessing achievement and intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for

educational purposes

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, computer skills

 

Experience:

Two years’ experience in providing services in an educational setting preferred

Job Title:          Speech-Language Pathologist

Qualifications

 

Education/Certification:

Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited college or university

Valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SBESLPA)

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to use the accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions

Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions

Ability to instruct and manage student behavior

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

Work for Robertson County Special Services, a shared service arrangement for the following member districts: Bremond ISD, Calvert ISD, Franklin ISD, Hearne ISD, and Mumford ISD.

 

Plan and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders. Assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with their students’ ability to derive full benefit from the educational program.

 

Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned; a more detailed job description will be discussed at the interview.

 

Benefits to working at RCSS: Small caseloads, case managers complete all ARDs, no SHARS paperwork, and collaboration with knowledgeable staff.

My wife and I really enjoyed the small town atmosphere when we visited and hopefully soon we can become a vital part of not only the school district, but the community as well. We also loved the houses and the peronality of them, nothing better than small town America. Kudos to Bremond and its Community.
