5th Grade Held Mock Presidential Election

The Bremond Elementary held a mock Presidential Election today Nov. 8, 2016.  The 5th graders took turns being election officials checking ID's (library cards) and voter registration cards and passing out "I voted" stickers.  They handed out ballots where Pre-K through 5th grade participated in voting for either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump then put their ballots in a ballot box which were counted when all students had completed voting. All students have learned a great deal throughout the last few weeks about the election process, who can vote, popularity votes vs electoral votes, the candidates and their stance on issues.  They are definitely involved in the 2016 elections. Tomorrow, the 5th graders will color the huge US map hanging in the hallway showing which states won democrat or republican majority.

    These were the results:

    Republican- Donald Trump 149 votes-67%

    Democratic-Hillary Clinton   74 votes-33%

One ballot was not marked and therefore was not counted. A total of 224 ballots were received.

    High School Principal

It is an honor and a privilege to the principal at Bremond High School.  I could not ask for better treatment than what has been given to me and my family from Mr. Stuard and staff.  We are looking forward to the upcoming year and a chance to be a part of such a great school district and community.

As the principal of Bremond High School I will demand a school system which reinforces high moral standards for our students, as well as a strong desire to see children achieve high levels of success academically, athletically, musically, agriculturally, and in all extracurricular activities as well.  I am an enormous supporter of all extracurricular activities, but make no mistake, the most important job we do here in Bremond is to provide a high quality education for the youth of this community.

I am happily looking forward to becoming part of the Tiger family and tradition, and am determined to help the students of Bremond continue to aim for excellence.

    Sincerely

    Stephen English

    Principal Bremond High School
