2nd Grade Inventors!
Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Settle
Through social studies and our reading unit, we learned that some inventions are famous and legendary, while others are obscure and practically forgotten; How many inventions stand on the shoulders of inventions that came before them. Behind every invention is a person who saw a problem or an opportunity and invented a solution or a new device. After seeing the how much they enjoyed learning about the inventors and inventions, students were asked to create their own invention or re-create one that already exists. It is pretty impressive to see the amount of time and work each student and their families put into the making these inventions. We had everything from two-sided toothbrushes that cut down on the time you brush your teeth, “Help Me Pour”, a device that helps you pour liquid out of a jug without wasting it and a “Bootleg Air-Conditioner” made from a Styrofoam cooler, frozen water bottles, a fan, insulation, and PVC. I am very proud of the work they did!
Way to go 2nd grade inventors! Keep up the good work!
